ANNOUNCEMENT — NOTICE TO DEPOSITORS AND THE PUBLIC
Pursuant to the provisions of Article (227) of the Banking Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 2/2025, and further to the approval of the Central Bank of Oman on the publication of a notice of termination of banking business, Bank of Beirut (Oman Branch - Commercial Registration No. 1003955), being a branch of a foreign bank licensed by the Central Bank of Oman to carry on banking business in the Sultanate of Oman, hereby announces that it has resolved to terminate its banking business in the Sultanate of Oman and has obtained the regulatory approval required for such termination, in accordance with the provisions of Articles (214) and (215) of the aforementioned Banking Law.
The Bank extends its sincere appreciation to its customers and partners in Oman for their trust and confidence over the years.
Accordingly, Bank of Beirut (Sultanate of Oman Branch) invites all depositors to visit the Branch within a period of sixty (60) days, from 23/08/2026 to 23/10/2026, during official working hours, in order to submit their claims supported by the relevant documents, and to complete the procedures relating to their accounts, including the withdrawal of balances and deposits, the settlement of outstanding obligations, and the collection of their documents.
Upon the expiry of the aforementioned period, all communications concerning any remaining claims or procedures relating to accounts or transactions shall be directed to the Office of Muhannad Al Amri for Advocacy (a civil law firm), in its capacity as the party authorized to follow up on such procedures, on telephone numbers (93913097 – 24497669), by attending the office premises located in the Wilayat of Bousher - North Al Ghubrah - Way No. (3815) - Building No. 10251A (Bank of Beirut Building) - Fifth Floor - Telephone: (0096891239034 - 0096824120820).
Online Banking (Personal and Business) remains accessible to existing customers for account viewing and residual servicing only, until 23/10/2026. No new registrations, products, or services are offered or accepted.
Complaints and comments may be submitted through the Complaints & Comments page of this website. The Bank will acknowledge each complaint within 1 business day and endeavor to issue a final response within 2 business days, in line with applicable Central Bank of Oman requirements. Complainants who are not satisfied with the Bank’s final response, or who do not receive a response within the stated period, may refer their complaint to the Central Bank of Oman through its published consumer complaint channels.
The Bank’s books, records, and customer files will be retained for the periods required by applicable law. Personal data will continue to be processed solely for wind-down, legal, and regulatory purposes, in accordance with the Bank’s updated Privacy Notice.
The Bank will never request passwords, PINs, one-time passwords (OTPs), or full card details by telephone, SMS, email, or social media. Any communication purporting to be issued by or on behalf of the Bank in connection with the termination of its banking business should be treated with caution and may be verified through the contact details set out in this notice.
